How Do Online/Blended CPR Courses Work?
Whether you’re interested in online BLS courses or First Aid courses, you can expect the same structure. First, you will purchase a online portion of the course. You can watch this on any computer on your schedule. This will teach the fundamentals of the course and then you will schedule a time to complete an in-person review and skills verification check. This skills verification not only provides tangible feedback to see how effective you have learned the material, but also is YOUR opportunity to refine your skills. How Long Does CPR Certification Last?
CPR certification lasts two years. Your certification card is valid until the end of the month in which the card was issued. Once those two years are up, you must take a recertification course to remain compliant and maintain your knowledge. Right Choice CPR offers both Community CPR and First Aid and Provider BLS renewal courses, both in-person and online.
How Long Does CPR Certification Take?
All CPR certification courses typically take place over several hours throughout the course of one day. The exact time it takes to complete the course depends on several factors such as equipment to student ratios and the number of students to instructor ratio. At Right Choice CPR Certification, the quality of training is our top priority, which is why instructors ensure enough time is dedicated for students to learn the skills and training needed to save lives.
Is the Online CPR Certification Legitimate?
The answer is typically no. Currently the AHA does not accredit, approve, nor endorse any fully remote online CPR certification or renewal course. The AHA requires an in-person, hands-on skills assessment as part of their certification program, which is not accessible online. However, due to COVID-19, the AHA has temporarily adjusted these guidelines. In order to be issued a certification eCard, the fully online CPR certification course must observe the same standards as cited above, which include instructor-led courses and the use of the same required equipment and materials.
What is the Cost of Online CPR Training?
The cost of In-Person or Online/Blended CPR Certifications are relatively the same. AHA courses offering issuance of a provider eCard must meet stricter requirements. These requirements include the use of a feedback manikin and AED Trainer. In-Person CPR, Right Choice CPR Certification and renewal courses range from $55-$100 depending on the class or bundle.
